So I don’t think there was anyone but my hubby who actually believed I could potty train Tayla in 3 days or less, but I am here to report that I did! It’s official, my baby girl is a big girl! She sleeps in a big girl bed like a pro and now she goes potty in the big girl potty without accidents! She often throughout the day now proudly walks around saying, “big girl, big girl, big girl”. I’m so proud of her! I used this 3 day potty training method and despite the fact that as I read the book I thought “no way” or “I could do it better” or “I’ll just not do that part” I followed it to a T and it worked:) Here is a picture of my big girl!
And just for fun this is what the last 3 days have been like….
DAY ONE:
pairs of wet underwear
“puddles”
successful bathroom trips
That night we also had to wake up and change her sheets 3 different times.
DAY TWO:
pairs of wet underwear (two of which were during naps)
“puddle”
successful potty trips
That night we had to change her sheets twice but the last one was not until she woke up in the morning.
DAY THREE:
pair of wet underwear (which was while I was gone - don’t think it would have happened otherwise)
“puddles”
successful potty trips
Today she only had one accident and it was while I was gone and the neighbor boy was over playing (a bit distracted). I’m so proud of her she totally understands. She didn’t even have an accident during her nap ( although her nap was cut short because she woke up needing to go). So bottom line is that it’s official, my little girl is a big girl, and I no longer have to buy two different sizes of diapers:)
In other news we took Gavin to the Dr. today and have learned that he has gained a little bit of weight but still has not grown in height. We are going to do some tests now that will help us see if he is absorbing the nutrients that he is eating. According to the pediatrician he is getting plenty of calories (certainly enough to be growing) from nursing alone! That’s not even counting the many many calories that he gets from baby food. So we’ll see, hopefully we’ll figure something out!
