Web Wednesday #3

So in continuing the "approaching Holidays" theme what comes next? We've got the shopping covered (although stay posted because I have many more sites for great deals), we've got the food purchasing covered in the way of deals. The only thing left are the gloriously tiring family get-togethers! This to me is one of those love-hate relationships. I love extended family and I love to be around them but they often cause me an unnecessary amount of stress. If you're planning and hosting the get-togethers the stressers are obvious but even if I'm just attending I find myself stressing about my kids and their schedules, their behavior, and (what feels like) packing up the whole house to take and so on. Now that you have bought all the food for your holiday events you need to do something with it...... I am here to hopefully help relieve some of your stress with some helpful sites when it comes to planning and preparing meals.

So first we begin with one of my favorites for all year round, Simplify Supper. This website not only has hundreds of tasty quick and easy recipes it has a helpful monthly planner and grocery list! What more could you ask for?You choose some favorites plug them into your calendar and viola! you have a shopping list ready with everything you need for the week or month or whatever you choose. I love it. You end up with wonderful dinners, feeling like a successful spouse and parent and no stress (which only equals a happy home!) because all the planning and (in my opinion) time consuming hard work is done for you with the click of a mouse. So there you go no excuses, simplify supper!

This next one is very similar but they are both just too wonderful to not share. Meals Matter is a site that you all just have to join. Not only does it have the handy dandy meal planner and shopping list it also has a whole list of quick meals that are totally delicious (at least the ones I've tried). Also if you just don't have time to go to the store you can search for a dinner based on ingredients you already have. Also if you sign up (don't worry it's free) you can create your own cookbook from the recipes you try and know your family loves. And last but not least if you're trying to slim down for the holidays or maybe just be healthier overall they have some great resources for healthy eating. Give it a try, start planning, start cooking, enjoy it!

Last but certainly not least since it's one of my favorites is Saucy Eats sponsered by The Secret is in the Sauce. This site is TOTALLY different from the other two but so much fun! They have lots of great recipes for dinner, dessert, breakfast etc. and "recipes" for fun, like cupcake crayon, or my personal favorite play dough cookies (and yes you CAN eat them!) I love it and with winter approaching it's got some great things for kids. Check it out, I know you'll love it as much as I do!

So until next time, enjoy, have fun, cook something new, tell me about it!
