The things kids do

Well let me begin by saying that the last post......*sigh*......SO not how it was! I'm not as blonde as he made me sound. I've never eaten cream cheese on a bagel because I don't like it. I have however seen others eat it. I've seen them spread it, I've seen them put a glob on bite by bite, and I've seen them...more or less scoop it with the bagel bite by bite. While I've seen others eat bagels with cream cheese I haven't ever seen my husband eat a bagel with cream cheese; weird? no I don't usually buy it. So in my defense I was more asking how he liked to eat it. I'm very aware that it is spread with a butter knife....a butter knife that Nate might just need to watch out for! K maybe not; anyway, it's been a while, I've got pictures and updates that I'm going to cram into one blog, bear with me cuz here we go!

Okay my brother and his family came to visit from Alaska and it was so much fun. My niece Macy and Tayla got along very well except for when it came to sharing one thing.....Grandma! If my mom picked up Macy it didn't matter how far away Tayla was she would stop whatever she was doing and crawl over to my mom sit at her feet looking up with this adorable pick me up smile that no one can resist. If my mom picked up Tayla, it didn't matter how far away Macy was she would stop what she was doing and run over to my mom point to the ground and angrily yell "KAYA YAY!!!" which translates to "Tayla lay!" Lay is what Macy says when she wants someone to sit (or in this case, be put) on the ground. It was funny because both girls always seemed to somehow know when Grandma was picking someone else up. It made things a little difficult at times but made my mom feel very loved and wanted by her granddaughters. We did manage to get one picture where Grandma is holding them both and neither girl is trying to push the other to the ground.

We had fun and stayed very entertained while they were here. Kylie (sorry didn't seem to get any pictures) Is the cutest round ball of a baby that I have ever seen. I do not exaggerate when I say that she is a round ball. She is 5 months and weighs more than Tayla. But she has the cutest little personality and smile and is just so fun to snuggle with.

Macy who is now 20 1/2 months is a bean pole of energy! She is worse than the energizer bunny but so much fun! She never stops not even to eat (hence the bean pole), her little sister is quickly going to pass her in weight! She signs a ton and my favorite by far is when she signs juice. I wish I had a picture or video of it. It looks like she is trying to do some sort of gang sign and scratch her armpit at the same time. She even tilts her head. Just ask me the next time you see me, I'll recreate it, you can imagine her doing it and you can laugh with me! Macy also LOVES Zeke. The feeling is not shared however. She loves to kneel next to him get right down in his face with her arm around his body (sometimes neck) and giggle til he growls and then she just giggles harder! She likes to make poor Zeke growl. The problem is is that Zeke doesn't get it, JUST RUN AWAY! oh well. And among many many other things she found a new hat that she thought was quite fun and hilarious.

And last but certainly not least my sweet baby girl, Tayla. Her new favorite word is uh-oh although it comes out as "oh-oh" and is very cute. She has learned that "oh-oh" works for lots of things; when anything is dropped, when you throw anything, when you can't find something, when you do something naughty, or when you are about to do something naughty, and still often works just to get people to look at you a smile. She is beginning that mimic stage where I say wow and she repeats, I sneeze she repeats, I cough she repeats, I laugh she repeats, I say bottle she repeats, and so on. She has also started doing this with things that we do with our hands. She watches us and then tries to do whatever it is we were just doing, clapping, folding our hands, making them into animals, shaking them, and again, so on. She now thinks it's funny when Nate and I kiss. She still is signing although not really any new signs just the same ones. She stands up on her own and gets closer and closer to walking every day but not yet. She has tasted and loves real apples. she runs her teeth back and forth until little pieces fall off into her mouth. She is so happy when she gets an apple and I am too because it will keep her busy for a VERY long time.
